Flinders Park - Wardens Needed!
A plea for people to come forward as park wardens. Volunteers would be preferable or it could be a job share paying 3/4k a year. The job would be to manage the park, weeding, pruning general daily running, a few hours per day. Also, if volunteers would come to help us with planting of shrubs and bulbs and assist or join our Donington in Bloom people we would welcome them. Contact Gill Lunn 01775 820760

Surveys
We urgently need volunteers to complete two surveys.
1. Survey the use of Flinders Park. This will involve visiting the park on a regular basis at different times of the day and using a form provided, take notes on the usage of the park. In this weather it would be a great way to enjoy the park yourself and put something back into the village. We have to complete this survey very soon in order to fully secure the funding we already have in place.
2. Skills Survey of Donington: This will involve meeting local residents (as many as possible) and, using forms provided, obtain as much information about our local skills and resources. It is also to help make people aware of the work we are doing within Donington and, if possible recruit some more members.
Can you spare a few hours to help? Contact us if you are interested. Phone 01775 823016 (weekdays Tues-Thurs) or 01775 821849 (Evening) and ask for Bev.
Flinders Horticultural Society
Would you like to join what is hoped will be a prestigious horticultual society? Our Society is now in its fledgling stages and we are planning many things for all the greenfingered Doningtonians out there. We need more of you to come and join in. There must be some budding gardeners out there or people who could spread the seeds of their specialist knowledge.
One of our first ventures is to create a seed bank for Donington. Watch out for more info on this project and for 'Seedy Sunday', coming soon!
Call Peter Lorimer on 01775 820376 to join up or find out more.
